EV Manufacturing
Manufacturing work has kicked off at Causis E-Mobility’s electric vehicle (EV) plant in Talegaon, Pune.
The London-based company has invested Rs 2800 crore in the facility that spans across 75 acres.
It will be manufacturing electric buses over there, Financial Express reports.
With a production capacity of about 1000 units, Causis E-Mobility is aiming to roll out buses by the first week of November 2022.
The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Causus E-Mobility on this issue in October 2021.
Similarly, Pune-based Pinnacle Mobility Solutions’ Rs 2000 crore worth EV project recently got approved for the centre’s production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for automobiles.
Pinnacle’s manufacturing will be split between Pune and Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh. The company is planning to raise smaller assembly plants across the country. It will hence not build a single mega plant as such.
They are set to begin work in April 2022 and will function with investments worth Rs 300 crore and Rs 600 crore for the first two years respectively.
