World Bank Lauds Aarogya Setu App; Google, Apple To Develop Similar Software For Smartphones For Contact Tracing

The World Bank has lauded early deployment of technology backed Aarogya Setu smartphone application to help in contact tracing and containing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the nation, reports Times of India.

It should be noted that merely days after the launch of the application by the Government, United States (US) based global technology giant Apple and Google announced on Saturday (11 April) that they had taken up the building of software for smartphones which would help in contact tracing, just as the Aarogya Setu application does.
