App-based bicycle sharing company will now provide its services across 9 Delhi metro stations after entering into an agreement with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to improve last-mile connectivity, reports Rail Analysis.
The stations which will be covered are on the blue and yellow lines. Yulu Bikes Chief Executive Officer Amit Gupta said that the move was part of the company’s plans to expand its offerings for green commute across the Delhi-NCR region.
“We are proud to collaborate with DMRC for a common vision of better first and last-mile connectivity, reducing congestion and improving air quality, he said.
Yulu wants to make up to 5,000 non-motorised e-bikes, known as YULU Miracles, available to commuters across metro stations in Delhi before the end of 2019.
If all goes according to plan, the service will be further expanded across the NCR, covering all metro stations in the region with the deployment of approximately 25,000 Miracles.
