The Madhya Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday (21 May) released an alleged video of former state chief minister Kamalnath, in which the Congress leader seemingly urged party workers to provoke the farmers protesting against farm reform laws.
In the video, Kamal Nath is seen addressing workers by video-conferencing and is seemingly heard saying, " Ye toh tum log ko aag lagani hai.... humne kaha tha ye aag lagaane ka mauka hai... Kisaanon ke sath nyay ho.... dusra kaam hai aag lagao ke sarkar aisa kar rahi hai (You people have to provoke.. we have said that this is the right opportunity to provoke... the farmers should get justice.... the second task is to provoke against the government)
Sharma slammed Kamal Nath for the comment and said that the Congress leader was trying to "mislead and provoke" the farmers over the farm-law reforms.
Sharing the video, BJP state unit quipped, "Kamal Nath ji, the fire you set in 1984 is yet to be extinguished and now you are 'setting fire' after reading Congress toolkit. Be careful, otherwise the fire could burn Congress".
