Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee will not appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on 3 October, he declared on X.

The ED had summoned him in connection with the teacher recruitment scam, responding to which Abhishek Banerjee said that no force in the world could stop him from going to Delhi.

The ruling party in West Bengal is organising a massive two-day protest rally in Delhi in October, just before the state's festive season begins with Durga Puja.

Targeting the ED, Mamata Banerjee's nephew said, "Earlier this month, the ED summoned me on a day coinciding with an important coordinating meeting of INDI Alliance in Delhi. I dutifully appeared and complied with the served summons."

"Yet again they have served me another summons to appear before them on a day when the protest agitation for West Bengal's rightful dues is scheduled in Delhi on 3rd Oct. This stark revelation unequivocally exposes those who are truly perturbED, rattlED and scarED!," the TMC leader wrote.

Earlier, Banerjee was interrogated at the ED office in Salt Lake for about nine hours on 13 September. After coming out of the ED office, he told journalists that the ED had chosen this day to prevent him from attending the opposition parties' meeting. Abhishek had alleged that the ED and the CBI were advancing cases based on pick and choose.

The ED has asked Abhishek to be present at the CGO Complex at 10:30 am on 3 October. On the same day, a representative delegation of the TMC is scheduled to meet with the Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Giriraj Singh and present the issue of 'non-release of pending amount under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)'.

ED has also sent notices to Abhishek's parents, Amit Banerjee and Lata Banerjee, for questioning next week in connection with the recruitment scam. So far, it has not been revealed when and where they were summoned.

It should be noted that Abhishek Banerjee is the CEO of the company 'Lips & Bounds' associated with the recruitment scam. The ED had carried out a search operation in the company's office in recent days in connection with the investigation into the recruitment scam.
