After Summit In Delhi, China's Xi Jinping To Skip Virtual G-20 Meet Hosted By India

In a notable development, Chinese President Xi Jinping has chosen not to attend the G20 virtual summit hosted by India.

Instead, Chinese Premier Li Qiang will take the lead in representing China at the summit, following an invitation extended by the Indian government.

This decision comes on the heels of President Xi Jinping's absence from the G20 Summit hosted by India in New Delhi.

The virtual gathering, scheduled for Wednesday (22 November), aims to build on the outcomes and action points established during the annual G20 conclave in September, held under India's presidency.

The virtual summit will bring together leaders from all G20 member countries, the chair of the African Union, representatives from nine guest countries, and heads of 11 international organisations.

India, holding the G20 Presidency until 30 November, 2023, remains at the forefront of global diplomatic efforts.

China's decision to send Premier Li Qiang in place of President Xi Jinping adds an intriguing dynamic to the diplomatic engagement, reflecting the intricacies of international relations at the highest levels.
