The Delhi High Court, in a hearing on Tuesday (28 November), directed the organisation 'Mission Save Constitution,' which seeks to hold an All India Muslim Mahapanchayat at Ramlila Maidan, to provide a list of speakers to Delhi Police.

The court further requested the police to consider the application for the event scheduled on 18 December and pass orders by Wednesday (29 November).

The police, while not opposing the fundamental rights of the petitioner to organise the mahapanchayat, expressed "apprehensions."

The petitioner had initially sought permission to conduct a meeting at Ramlila Maidan on 4 December, expressing discontent over the pending decision by the deputy commissioner of police (central district) regarding the no-objection certificate for the Mahapanchayat.

However, the court had directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Delhi Police to assess the feasibility of holding the event on 18 December.

In the recent plea, the petitioner applied to the MCD on 10 November for the maidan's allotment on 4 December, and the MCD responded positively, pending a police NOC.
