Apple Inc.'s annual sales in India have hit a crescendo high of nearly $8 billion, highlighting a rapidly expanding market as per a report from The Economic Times

Revenue in India has increased by approximately 33 per cent over the 12 months through March, growing from $6 billion the previous year. Apple's expensive iPhones have contributed to more than half of these sales.

This growth indicates steady progress in Apple’s efforts to attract users in India, where consumers are gradually acquiring more purchasing power as the economy grows.

Apple has also been rapidly expanding its manufacturing operations in India. Currently, it produces models including the latest iPhone 15 in the country, though not the higher-spec Pro and Pro Max models. Most of the devices assembled in India are exported.

Apple’s India-based assembly partners doubled their production to $14 billion worth of iPhones in the country last fiscal. This means Apple now produces up to 14 per cent, or about one in seven, of its flagship devices in India.
