Rajastha CM-Designate Bhajan Lal Sharma
Rajasthan's Chief Minister-designate Bhajan Lal Sharma is set to take the oath of the office today (15 December).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda will attend Sharma's swearing-in ceremony.
Extensive security measures and seating plans have been implemented at the iconic Albert Hall, which is expected to accommodate a substantial number of people for the ceremony.
A spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said invitations have been sent to central leaders and state chief ministers for the ceremony.
He further mentioned that the primary routes to the state capital are adorned with banners and posters promoting diverse central welfare programs, along with standees of various leaders.
Governor Kalraj Mishra will administer the oath to them.
In the Assembly elections held on 25 November in the desert state, the BJP emerged victorious with 115 seats, while the Congress secured 69 seats. The election took place on 199 out of the 200 seats in the Assembly.
During a BJP legislature party meeting on Tuesday, Sharma, a first-time MLA, was declared as the chief minister-designate.
The announcement was made in the presence of the party's central observers, Rajnath Singh, Saroj Pandey, and Vinod Tawde.
Diya Kumari, the MLA of Vidhyadhar Nagar, and Bairwa, the MLA of Dudu, were selected as the deputy chief ministers. Additionally, Vasudev Devnani, the Ajmer North MLA, was selected as the speaker of the Assembly.
