Tesla chief executive officer (CEO) Elon Musk on Monday (27 September) said that United States President Joe Biden and his administration is biased against his company.

The tech billionaire added that the Biden administration is "not the friendliest" and is controlled by the unions.

"Biden held this EV summit, didn't invite Tesla. ... (He) Invited GM, Ford, Chrysler, and UAW (United Auto Workers)," Musk said during a panel discussion at the Code Conference in California's Beverly Hills.

"An EV Summit, at the White House, (They) didn't mention Tesla once and praised GM and Ford for leading the EV revolution. Does that sound maybe a little biased?," he said.

Biden had last month invited major electric vehicle (EV) makers including General Motors (GM) and Ford (F), as well as Stellantis, the company formed by the merger earlier this year of Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA, to the White House to celebrate the ambitious EV goals set by the automakers.

However, he did not invite Tesla, which is the world's largest EV maker.

According to a CNN report, one of the potential reason for not inviting the Elon Musk-led EV company was the presence of United Auto Workers (UAW) union at the ceremony.

The UAW represents workers at GM, Ford and Stellantis, but has been battling, so far unsuccessfully, to organise Tesla workers at the EV maker's plant in Fremont, California.
