Ola Electric's chief executive officer Bhavish Aggarwal criticised an unnamed auto journalist and demanded an apology, after confidential pictures of their new scooters were leaked before the official launch.

On 15 August, Ola Electric is scheduled to release an affordable electric scooter. Several media outlets have already reported on it, and the company had also hinted at it a few days ago.

Ola even arranged a sneak peek of their upcoming product for the media before its official launch next week.

However, during the event, an unidentified journalist allegedly leaked some confidential images of the upcoming EV before the company's official announcement.

Aggarwal expressed his frustration and disappointment on Twitter.

"These images were part of an auto media event we held today, and content from this event was supposed to be embargoed and confidential. Auto media undermines their own credibility when they secretly take photos at a confidential event. It breaks the trust the brand places in them," he stated in a passionate tweet.

He highlighted the company's dedication to creating exceptional products and enjoyable events for their customers, and emphasised that such incidents have no place in a mature ecosystem.

Aggarwal not only demanded an apology from the journalist but also cautioned that the company may refrain from showcasing their products to the media prior to their release to customers in the future.

He further stated that unless the responsible party is identified and an unlikely apology is issued, auto journalists will no longer be given access to their products before launch. Instead, they will only be shown the products after customers have been introduced to them at launch events.

According to reports, Ola's upcoming S1X model is rumored to be priced below Rs 1 lakh and has a range of 100 km, on a single charge.

Currently, Ola offers the S1 Pro, S1, and S1 Air electric scooters.
