The Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has sealed a seat-sharing deal for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress have agreed to a 4:3 seat-sharing formula for Delhi to put up a joint fight against the BJP, which all the seven seats in the national capital in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The two parties have also reached a deal for Gujarat, Haryana, Goa, and Chandigarh.

In Delhi, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party will contest four out of the seven seats - West Delhi, South Delhi, East Delhi, and New Delhi.

The remaining three - North East Delhi, North West Delhi, and Chandni Chowk - will go to the Congress.


Meanwhile, in Gujarat, AAP will contest from Bhavnagar and Bharuch.

The Congress will also be contesting from Chandigarh and two seats in Goa.

Last week, AAP had declared a candidate for South Goa and will withdraw it to make way for its ally.

However, in Punjab, both the parties will contest elections separately as the state units of both parties stuck to their position of not aligning with the other.
