Congress released its another list of Lok Sabha candidates on Sunday (14 April) declaring 10 names including Kanhaiya Kumar, who is set to contest against BJP's Manoj Tiwari in North East Delhi.
While Manoj Tiwari is seeking a third-term here, Kanhaiya Kumar contested the 2019 elections on Communist Party of India (CPI) symbol from Begusarai and lost by a margin of over 4 lakh votes.
Despite the 2019 loss, the Congress has again showed trust in JP Agarwal from Chandni Chowk. Udit Raj is fielded from North West Delhi, a SC-reserved constituency that he represented as a BJP MP after winning in 2014.
The Congress has repeated sitting MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla from Amritsar, who will take on Taranjit Singh Sandhu, former diplomat who recently joined BJP.
Sitting Congress MP from Fatehgarh Sahib (SC) Amar Singh has been repeated. Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu and Sukhpal Singh Khaira will contesting from Bathinda and Sangrur respectively.
Former AAP MP Dharamvir Gandhi will be contesting from Patiala as a Congress candidate against former Congress MP Preneet Kaur, who will be contesting as a BJP candidate.
Ujjwal Rewati Raman Singh will be contesting from Allahabad. He is son a senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Rewati Raman Singh and recently joined Congress. He was an SP MLA from 2017 to 2022.
