K Kavitha
The Supreme Court on Tuesday (27 August) granted bail to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha in the Delhi liquor excise policy case, in which she was arrested on 15 March by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
A bench of Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan questioned the presence of evidence against Kavitha after her counsel Mukul Rohtagi argued that formatting the phone is not tampering the evidence.
The bench asked Additional Solicitor General S V Raju, "What is the material to show that she was involved in the crime," and asked him to give more evidence for evidence tampering other than phone formatting.
Sisodia was granted bail earlier this month by the Supreme Court. He walked out of jail after nearly 18 months of his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the alleged liquor policy scam.
