Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an election rally.
Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that his government has earned substantial trust from the public based on their decade-long performance. He criticised previous administrations for viewing themselves as the 'mai-baap' (parents) of citizens and for operating with a focus on vote banks.
PM Modi declared that his primary focus is on four "Amrit Stambh" and these are four big castes for him which include the poor, youth, women, and farmers. He firmly believes that India's development is directly tied to the advancement of these groups.
These comments were made following a video conference interaction with the beneficiaries of 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra'.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has released a statement stating that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is being carried out nationwide. The objective of this initiative is to achieve full coverage of the government's flagship schemes by ensuring that the benefits of these programs are delivered to all intended recipients in a timely manner.
Following his interaction with the beneficiaries, Prime Minister Modi declared that India will not rest or falter, as its citizens are determined to see their nation progress and develop.
“Even in various corners of the country there is such enthusiasm for the yatra and there is for a reason for it, as people have seen (Narendra) Modi, his work, in the last 10 years and therefore, they have immense confidence in the government and its efforts,” he said.
He noted that despite many years of independence, a significant segment of the population was still lacking basic amenities, while the previous governments viewed themselves as the 'mai-baap' or caretakers of the people.
The term "Mai-baap" in Hindi loosely signifies a government that possesses a feudal mentality.
Prime Minister Modi stated that previous governments would consider political gains and voter demographics when initiating projects.
“Therefore, the people never used to trust the announcements of such 'mai-baap' governments. We have changed this and the government in place now considers people as form of God and we work with 'seva bhav' not 'satta bhav'," the PM said.
He stated that within a mere 15 days of the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra', individuals are participating and joining the movement. He further added that the 'raths' in the yatra are now being recognised by people as the 'Modi ki guarantee wali gaadi'.
The Prime Minister stated that the initiative 'Modi ki guarantee' has thus far impacted over 12,000 panchayats and provided benefits to more than 3 million individuals.
“Mothers and sisters are reaching out to this vehicle of 'Modi ki guarantee'. People are giving this the shape of a people's movement and taking it forward,” he said.
The Prime Minister stated that a voice resonates throughout the nation, asserting that Modi's assurances commence where the expectations of the people from others cease.
At the event, Prime Minister Modi initiated a plan to boost the count of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, outlets that offer medicines at reduced prices, from 10,000 to 25,000. He commemorated the significant opening of the 10,000th Jan Aushadhi Kendra at AIIMS, Deoghar, dedicating it to the nation. In addition, he introduced the 'Drone Didi Yojana'.
The plan is designed to supply drones to 15,000 chosen women's Self Help Groups from 2024-25 to 2025-2026. These drones will be used to offer rental services to farmers for agricultural purposes.
