Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government is likely to fast-track free trade agreements with Britain and Oman within the first 100 days of the formation of the next government, should the BJP secure victory in the upcoming elections, reported Indian Express.
As per reports, Modi has directed various ministries to outline annual objectives for the next five years, aligning them into a 100-day action plan.
Also the trade ministry has reportedly set sights on finalizing the trade pacts with Britain and Oman, as negotiations for both are nearing completion.
However, Neither the trade ministry nor PM Modi’s office has commented on the matter, with a spokesperson for Britain’s department for business and trade emphasizing ongoing efforts toward an ambitious trade deal between the two nations.
Similarly, Oman and India aim to conclude talks swiftly.
Also noteworthy is the fact that trade volumes between India and Oman have shown a significant surge, doubling in the past two years to reach $12.39 billion in the last fiscal year.
