Raghav Chadha
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha said on Tuesday (16 January) that the opposition's INDI Alliance is going to contest its first election for Chandigarh's mayoral post, which will be held on 18 January.
"It's not a common election but will change the fortune, picture, condition and direction of our national politics. It will be a foundation for the 2024 Lok Sabha election," the AAP Rajya Sabha MP said expressing hope for INDI Alliance's win.
This comes despite several disagreements between the state-level units of AAP and Congress. The seat sharing between both parties for Delhi and Punjab has become a bone of contention.
Answering a question on the seat-sharing arrangement, Chadha said, "Seat-sharing will be done in which states, in which states we will fight together and separately, will be based on strategy, which will be decided in talks."
Talking further about Chandigarh, Chadha said that the mayor will be of AAP and two deputy mayors of Congress. He said that Arvind Kejirwal is Lord Ram's "bhakt" when questioned about organising of 'Sundar Kand' in Delhi.
