Indian Woman Anju's Visit To Pakistan Purely Platonic, Will Return To India, Says Her Pakistani Friend Nasrulla

A married Indian woman named Anju, who legally travelled to a remote village in Pakistan to meet her Facebook friend will be returning to India on 20 August when her visa expires, according to her Pakistani friend.

He dismissed any reports of a romantic relationship between them.

The Pakistani friend, Nasrulla, who is 29 years old, stated that he has no intentions of marrying Anju, a 34-year-old woman who was born in Kailor village in Uttar Pradesh and currently resides in the Alwar district of Rajasthan.

Nasrulla and Anju initially became friends on Facebook in 2019.

According to Nasrulla, "Anju is visiting Pakistan, but we have no plans to get married". He shared this information during a phone interview with PTI from his village Kulsho, located approximately 300 km from Peshawar.

He mentioned that on August 20, when her visa expires, she will return to her home country. He also shared that Anju is currently residing in a separate room in his house along with the other female members of his family.

Anju has traveled to the Upper Dir district in Pakistan's tribal Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to meet Nasrulla. She possesses a valid Pakistani visa for this purpose.

The Ministry of Interior has sent an official document to Pakistan's High Commission in New Delhi. The document states that a 30-day visa, specifically for Upper Dir, has been granted to Anju.

Nasrullah, the youngest among five brothers, holds a science degree from a university in Sheringal.

In his statement to local authorities, he affirms that their friendship does not involve any romantic feelings, and Anju will be returning to India on 20 August.

The affidavit also confirms that she will not be relocating from the Upper Dir district.

Anju was interviewed by District Police Officer Mushtaq in his office on Sunday, where her travel documents were examined. Based on this, a no-objection certificate was issued to her.

Nasrullah assured that the district administration has taken appropriate measures to ensure their safety, and Anju is currently safe and well with her family.

Anju's husband, Arvind, who resides in Rajasthan, remains optimistic that his wife will be reunited with him soon.

The couple has a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son, adding to their family's anxieties during this difficult time.

Anju's situation mirrors that of Seema Ghulam Haider. Seema, a mother of four from Pakistan, entered India secretly to live with Sachin Meena, a Hindu man she met while playing PUBG in 2019.

Seema, aged 30, and Sachin, aged 22, reside in the Rabupura area of Greater Noida, near Delhi, where Sachin operates a provision store, according to Uttar Pradesh Police.

Seema was apprehended on July 4 for illegally entering India without a visa through Nepal, accompanied by her four children, all under the age of seven. Sachin was also arrested for harboring these undocumented immigrants.

In contrast, Anju's journey to Pakistan was legal, as she traveled from India via the Wagah-Attari border.

Arvind, Anju's husband, informed the media in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan that she had left home on Thursday (July 20), claiming to be going to Jaipur. However, the family later discovered that she was actually in Pakistan.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Bhiwadi Sujit Shankar, Anju's husband stated that she had departed from home on Thursday and possesses a valid passport.

After learning about Anju's journey to Pakistan, the family chose not to file a complaint.

During a media interview at his residence, Arvind revealed that Anju had disclosed her presence in Lahore to her sister. Furthermore, he had a conversation with her via WhatsApp call.

He assured that he would have a conversation with her and ask her to come back home, expressing optimism that she would indeed return.

According to him, her passport was issued in 2020, as she had intentions of applying for a job overseas. Arvind was unaware that she had been in contact with anyone on social media.
