In a recent development, India's Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) has been lauded as a global best practice by the Commonwealth following a recent meeting of top civil servants from its 56 member countries.
The Third Biennial Pan-Commonwealth Commonwealth Heads of Public Service meeting was held from Monday(22 April) to Wednesday(24 April) at the Commonwealth Secretariat Marlborough House headquarters in London, reported Indian Express.
Themed as "Institutionalisation of Smart Government to enhance public service delivery," the meeting featured a presentation by India's administrative department, showcasing CPGRAMS as a model for leveraging technology to improve public service delivery.
V Srinivas, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), presented India's CPGRAMS on 23 April 2024, receiving commendation from member countries as a global best practice.
Delegates, including Commonwealth Heads of Public Service, Secretaries to Cabinet, and Senior Public Officials, appreciated the papers and country studies presented by India, Rwanda, Kenya, and Namibia.
They noted the importance of digital government and transformative technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing efficiency and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Member countries also identified the Commonwealth Artificial Intelligence Consortium (CAIC) as a critical platform for capacity building, research, and innovation in AI adoption across the Commonwealth, especially in small states.
