Internal Rift In Karnataka BJP: Yatnal And Jarkiholi Lead Rebellion Against State Leadership

In signs that are sure to make upcoming days in Karnataka politics full of turmoil, disgruntled BJP lawmakers Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and Ramesh Jarkiholi have initiated efforts to rally "like-minded" leaders in opposition to senior party figures B S Yediyurappa and his son B Y Vijayendra.
They convened at the residence of former BJP MLA Kumar Bangarappa for discussions, and were joined by former Mysore MP Pratap Simha, as per a report by Deccan Herald.
Yatnal criticised what he perceives as the BJP becoming a family-dominated party, targeting Yediyurappa and Vijayendra for alleged interference in party affairs, particularly during recent elections.
He emphasised their intention to communicate these concerns to the party's central leadership and announced plans for a major gathering of dissenting leaders within a week to strategise on Karnataka BJP's future.
During the recent legislative session, he and other BJP figures like Aravind Limbavali expressed criticism of Vijayendra's conduct, accusing him of being overly deferential to Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.
Moreover, Jarkiholi, unhappy with the party's focus on the Mysuru site allotment scandal, has requested permission from the party's high command to lead a march from Bengaluru to Ballari to draw attention to alleged financial misconduct at the ST Development Corporation.
