After several days of consideration, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has announced the launch of his own political party, while keeping open the possibility of forming alliances with other major parties.

A few days earlier, Soren revealed that he felt humiliated when Hemant Soren, upon his release from jail, asked him to step down. Champai became the CM in February when Hemant was arrested by the ED.

Soren said he had three options: retire from politics, join another party, or start his own party. He has now chosen the third option as the Jharkhand assembly elections approach.

"I will not retire from politics. In this new chapter, I will strengthen the new organisation, and if I find a trustworthy ally along the way, I will pursue that friendship to better serve the people and the state," he stated.

Such a large number of workers coming along with Champai might mean that Hemant's Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), which is in alliance with Congress, might face a split.

Soren spent four days in Delhi amid speculation that he was meeting with senior BJP leaders. However, it now appears that no agreement was reached, leading Soren to move forward with launching his own party.

He mentioned that details about his new party will be revealed within a week, emphasising that public support helped him make this decision.
