Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Over 50 Per Cent Voting In Tripura, West Bengal Till 1 PM; Around 41 Per Cent Voter Turnout In First Phase So Far

The first phase of the voting for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 is ongoing across 102 Parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and UTs.

As of 1.00 pm, nearly 40.9 per cent voter turnout was recorded across 21 states and UTs participating in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. 

In Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 35.70 per cent of voters have cast their ballots, while Arunachal Pradesh recorded a turnout of 39.24 per cent.

In Assam, the voter participation stands at 45.12 per cent, while Bihar recorded a turnout of 32.41 per cent.

Chhattisgarh saw a relatively higher turnout at 42.57 per cent, while Jammu and Kashmir registered 43.11 per cent. Lakshadweep reported a turnout of 29.91 per cent, while Madhya Pradesh saw a turnout of 44.43 per cent.


In Mizoram, 40.37 per cent of voters have exercised their franchise, while Nagaland recorded a turnout of 44.64 per cent. Puducherry saw a participation rate of 44.95 per cent, while Rajasthan registered a turnout of 33.73 per cent.

In Sikkim, voter participation stands at 36.82 per cent, while Tamil Nadu recorded a turnout of 39.51 per cent.

Tripura witnessed a relatively higher turnout at 53.04 per cent, while Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand saw turnouts of 36.96 per cent and 37.33 per cent, respectively.

West Bengal reported a notably high voter participation rate of 50.96 per cent.
