The Border Security Force (BSF) has successfully thwarted a major infiltration bid along the international border in the RS Pura sector of Jammu.

The BSF troops also recovered a cache of weapons.

The recovered weapons included an AK 47 rifle, two pistols, and magazines containing 4 mm and 9 mm rounds, according to the BSF.

"In the intervening night of 21 Sept/22 Sept 2024, vigilant BSF troops noticed suspicious movement near the BSF Fence in the RS Pura border area. An intruder was seen approaching the fence, and the alert troops successfully thwarted the infiltration attempt," the BSF stated in a press release, ANI reported.

As per the BSF's press release, the intruder stealthily crossed the international boundary on 16 September, around 9:13 pm, and began moving towards the border fence near Ratankhurd village, taking advantage of the darkness.

The security forces fired at him as he did not stop and continued to move towards the border fence.
