Modi Government Greenlights Rs 1,650 Crore Allocation For 75 Lakh New LPG Connections, Bolstering Ujjwala Scheme

In May 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), a significant programme aiming to provide LPG connections to women from below poverty line families.
