'No Impact, Several MLAs In Touch With Us Too': Former Haryana CM Khattar After Independent MLAs Withdraw Support, Back Congress

Former Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Wednesday (8 May) that the withdrawal of support by three Independent MLAs from the Nayab Singh Saini-led government would not affect the BJP's prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha and state assembly elections.
Khattar's statement came after the announcement by Independent MLAs Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Singh Gollen, and Dharampal Gonder on Tuesday, which has put the current government into a minority position in the assembly.
The MLAs also announced they would back the Congress.
"There will be no impact of who is going where amid the election season. Several MLAs are in touch with us too, several leaders are standing in our support and they should keep their leaders safe. It will be known soon how many are in contact with us," Khattar said, India Today reported.
"Hundreds of people have come here in support. In this area, the BJP has been winning in the past three elections. This time, we will register a win with more votes than the last time. We will win all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana," Khattar asserted.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's government now lacks a majority by two seats in the 90-member House, which presently has 88 members, after having the backing of two other Independents.
