Things are not going very well for Mamata Banerjee
The father of the trainee doctor, raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, expressed that he is not satisfied with the actions of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
He explained that due to distrust in the state police, they approached the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to solve their daughter's case and alleged that Banerjee did not move forward with any work in the case.
The victim's father stated that the state police presented Sanjay Roy as the accused and claimed to have solved the case. However, he believes the brutality his daughter endured could not have been committed by just one person.
He alleged that someone from the police department was involved in the case. On Banerjee's request to join Puja festivities, the father said that if she has the capacity to make people join then she should do so.
On similar lines, the victim's mother had earlier expressed displeasure at Banerjee's statement urging people to join Puja festivities and questioned, "Can she (the CM) return my daughter?"
The mother said, "She (Banerjee) is appealing to people to return to the festive mood. I want to ask if this had happened to someone from her family, would she have said the same thing?"
The mother added that if people want to get into a festive mood, she can’t say anything but expressed the belief that all the protesting doctors consider the 31-year-old victim as their own.
