The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that after Congress candidate Syed Nasir Hussain won the Rajya Sabha elections on Tuesday (27 February), pro-Pakistan slogans were raised in the Karnataka Assembly.
BJP filed a formal complaint at the Vidhana Soudha police station that 'Pakistan Zindabad' (hail Pakistan) slogans were raised by Hussain's supporters after the victory declaration.
“The police have collected the video footage from the TV channels which have telecast (the incident). It has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further investigation,” state Home Minister G Parameshwara said.
Meanwhile, Hussain has denied the allegations and said that he never heard 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogans and instead “Nasir Saab Zindabad” slogans were raised by his followers.
