PM Narendra Modi in Rajasthan's Banswara
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (21 April) attacked the Congress manifesto alleging that it is an effort to implement Maoist ideology while campaigning in Rajasthan's Banswara.
Calling the Congress manifesto "concerning and serious", Modi pointed out that the Congress has promised a survey of property including gold, silver and land among other things.
"Congress has promised that gold and other property will be equally redistributed. Do you accept this? Does government have a right to take away your property?" Modi questioned.
"Mangalsootra is not an issue of gold or its price, it is linked to her dreams. Are you talking about snatching it in your manifesto?," Modi said recalling Congress' earlier statement that Muslims have the first right on the country's resources.
He linked this statement to Congress' manifesto and said, "This means that they will collect your assets and distribute to those who have more children."
Modi said, "The condition of the Congress party, which is surrounded by selfishness, has become such that for the first time since independence, the royal family of Congress that lives in Delhi will not vote for Congress."
