'Restore Trump Or...': Vivek Ramaswamy Vows To Withdraw From Colorado Ballot After State Court Deems Former US President Ineligible

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has pledged to withdraw from the Colorado ballot if the state's Supreme Court does not let Donald Trump contest in the US Presidential election.

His remarks came just hours after the court ruled Trump unfit for the US Presidency because of his alleged involvement in the US Capitol attack.

Ramaswamy has also implored other Republican contenders to promptly pull out of the Colorado elections if the court fails to restore Trump on the ballot.

"I pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary ballot until Trump is also allowed to be on the ballot, and I demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley do the same immediately," he said on X (formerly Twitter).

The Colorado Supreme Court's decision of 4-3 marks Donald Trump as the first-ever US presidential candidate to be declared unfit for the White House.

This unprecedented ruling is based on a seldom-invoked clause in the US Constitution, which disqualifies any official from office who has participated in "insurrection or rebellion".

The verdict is solely for the Republican primary in Colorado on 5 March, yet its outcome may influence Trump's position in the state for the general election on 5 November.

Neutral US election predictors consider Colorado to be safely Democratic, implying that President Joe Biden is expected to win the state irrespective of what happens to Trump there.
