RSS' Twin Towers Get Delhi Authorities' NOC After Initial Glitch Over Documentation — Here's All About New Building

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)’s new office in Delhi's Jhandewalan has got a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Delhi Urban Arts Commission (DUAC).

Initially, at a meeting on 1 August, DUAC reviewed the proposal for the NOC but withheld approval due to insufficient documentation, as noted in the meeting minutes.

However, after revisiting the matter on 29 August, DUAC granted the NOC for the completion of Towers 1 and 2. This means that the building will be completed and inaugurated soon.

The proposal was evaluated based on submitted documentation, drawings, and photographs. The commission concluded that the application met the necessary criteria and approved the NOC.

Earlier, on 1 August, DUAC requested the project’s architect to submit additional documentation, including updated photographs of the construction, comparing it with the approved 3D design.

The new RSS office comprises two 12-storey towers with a built-up area of almost 47,000 square meters, according to the environmental clearance granted in 2018.

The environmental clearance highlighted several benefits of the project, such as contributing to educational, social, and cultural development and providing employment opportunities.

The complex includes office spaces, meeting rooms, conference halls, and a library, Indian Express reported. It will employ many people during its operational phase. It is also expected to enhance the local infrastructure.

The project was initially approved by DUAC in July 2015, with revised plans approved in July 2018. It is being developed by Shree Keshav Samark Samiti, a committee named after RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hegdewar.
