Taking the suo moto cognizance of Swati Maliwal's allegations against the personal secretary of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the National Commission for Women (NCW) sent a summons to Bibhav Kumar on Thursday (16 May).
Bibhav Kumar has been asked to appear on 17 May at 11 am on the basis of a social media post that said, former "DCW chief Swati Maliwal accuses Arvind Kejriwal's personal secretary of assaulting her."
Swati Maliwal is the Rajya Sabha MP from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and made two PCR calls to Delhi Police around 10 am from the CM’s residence on Monday. However, she is yet to file a formal complaint.
The summons signed by NCW Under Secretary Shalini Rastogi says that if Bibhav Kumar fails to appear in-person, "the Commission may proceed to take such action, as it deems proper."
This comes after Kejriwal was spotted with Bibhav Kumar at Lucknow airport last night despite Sanjay Singh claiming that the Delhi CM has taken cognizance of the incident and has directed strict action.
Sanjay Singh had informed the media a day after the incident that while Swati Maliwal was waiting for Kejriwal in the drawing room of CM's residence, Bibhav Kumar came there and misbehaved with her.
