The release of Congress's initial candidate list for the Madhya Pradesh polls has sparked unrest within the party, leading to protests in Bhopal by supporters of those who did not make the cut.

Adding to the turmoil, a viral video features former chief minister Kamal Nath making a controversial statement, hinting at tearing the clothes of protesting party workers, as reported by India Today.

Supporters of Virendra Raghuvanshi had gathered outside Kamal Nath's residence, demanding Raghuvanshi's nomination from Shivpuri.

A video of Kamal Nath interacting with these supporters has circulated widely on social media, even being shared by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders.

"I am personally embarrassed in front of Virendra. I need to address the Raghuvanshi community. Digvijaya Singh will discuss Shivpuri with Jaivardhan, and we'll follow their advice. So, what are you trying to tell me? Now, go and tear Digvijaya Singh and Jaivardhan's clothes."

In response, BJP's state media coordinator, Ashish Agrawal, tweeted the video, saying, "Tear Digvijaya Singh and Jaivardhan Singh's clothes. Kamal Nath, you've gone to this extent now. This is what happens when the entire Congress is torn apart."

Digvijaya Singh commented on the video, suggesting, "In a big family, there are joys and conflicts. Wise elders should patiently resolve issues."

Kamal Nath later clarified, "There is a strong bond between Digvijaya Singh and me. Please don't take what I said in a negative way; it was a joke."
