Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to expedite the filling of all vacant positions in various departments across the state.

Emphasising the need for prompt action, he instructed that departments with existing vacancies and known appointments should immediately send proposals to the selection commissions for approval.

To streamline the appointment process, an e-proposal system has been introduced.

Adityanath stressed the importance of thoroughly reviewing the rules and regulations before submitting appointment proposals.

He also advised departments to maintain close communication with the selection commissions, ensuring that only correct proposals are submitted and setting clear timelines for the selection process.

This comes after the big setback for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh, where the party won just 33 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, 29 less than the 62 seats it won in the 2019 Parliamentary polls.

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party (SP), which had won 5 seats in 2019 polls, emerged as the largest party in the state by winning 37 seats in the recently held Lok Sabha elections.

In a meeting held on Thursday (6 June) with state's all top-ranking officials, including Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries, the UP Chief Minister reviewed ongoing projects.

The Chief Minister also issued the following directives:

  1. While preparing the academic calendar, consider the weather conditions and avoid scheduling exams in educational institutions after 10 May.

  • Ensure that all dues from the previous sugarcane crushing season are paid before the new season begins.

  • Provide complete details of beneficiary-oriented schemes on the CM Dashboard.

  • Under the 'One District, One Medical College' campaign, ensure the quality and timeliness of construction are maintained.

  • Set targets for officials to increase GST collection, with performance being the basis for promotions.
