In a heartwarming event named ‘Udaan’, a group of brave children who are cancer survivors, visited the Metro Museum at Patel Chowk Metro Station on Friday (22 September).

The event, hosted by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), celebrated these young heroes by organising an enchanting magic show that left the children and their families spellbound.

DMRC managing director Vikas Kumar attended the event, gracing the occasion with his presence. He affectionately interacted with the children and generously extended his support to them.

CanKids, an NGO which has a longstanding association with DMRC, supports children who are fighting cancer and is a testament to the indomitable spirit of young warriors and their families.

This extraordinary day shed light on the children’s remarkable journey of overcoming adversity and embracing life as survivors.

The 'Udaan’ event was orchestrated to observe Childhood Cancer awareness month, with the theme ‘Better Survival’. It serves as a reminder of the importance of raising awareness and providing unwavering support to children who are cancer survivors and their families.

Through their theatrical presentation, they shared their experiences, shining a light on the profound impact that a cancer diagnosis has had on their lives.

The parents also graced the stage by sharing the stories of survival and strength, highlighting the transformative journey they have undertaken as caregivers.

In a gesture of solidarity and support, DMRC presented the children with thoughtful gifts, symbolising their unending commitment by standing by these brave young souls.

This demonstration of support goes beyond the physical gifts and reflects the ongoing dedication of DMRC to these children and their families.

The event at Patel Chowk Metro Museum served as a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the power of community support. It highlighted the importance of empathy and understanding in the face of adversity.
