During a review meeting of ongoing development projects in Ayodhya on Wednesday (14 June), Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his belief that the consumption of meat and liquor should be restricted in the city, which is also known as "dharmanagri." He said this while stressing on the importance of respecting public sentiments in the religious city of Ayodhya.

Currently on a two-day trip to Ayodhya, the CM is set to hold a public meeting today (15 June), arranged by the BJP in Bikapur. The visit will allow for a deeper understanding of the ongoing development projects in Ayodhya as well as the overall spiritual and cultural significance of the city.

During his visit, the Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. As a part of his vision for Ayodhya, Adityanath directed the authorities to develop the city as a "model city of urban development." He demonstrated his commitment to the continued growth and prosperity of one of India's most sacred cities.

After arriving in Ayodhya, the Chief Minister first visited the Hanumangarhi temple to offer his prayers. During his visit, he also had a glimpse of Ram Lalla and took part in both ‘aarti’ and ‘parikrama’. Later on, he went for an inspection of the under-construction Ram temple and closely monitored the progress of the project. Public officials and local representatives were also present during the inspection.

The Chief Minister held a meeting with the officials of various departments to discuss the progress of development projects that are being executed as per “Ayodhya vision-2047”. He reviewed the current state of each project and provided his inputs to ensure each project aligns with the government's vision.

The CM emphasized that the holistic development of Ayodhya, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is the utmost priority of the state government. He went on to say that people from across the world were eagerly waiting to see the new and developed Ayodhya.


To ensure an uninterrupted supply of drinking water in Ayodhya, the Chief Minister has instructed the authorities to create both a "water action plan" and "water balance plan."

Alongside the aforementioned plans, the Chief Minister also directed the relevant authorities to complete the underground work for the sewer network and develop Ayodhya as a solar city within a specific timeframe.

At the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that nearly 30% of the work on the Rampath development project, which runs from Sahadatganj to Nayaghat, had been completed. The remainder of the work will be completed by December 31.

The Chief Minister was also updated on the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Path project. This project, which connects Sugriv Quila with Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, is nearly complete with 91% of the work already finished.

An update on the progress of the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport was shared with the CM, revealing that more than 84% of the runway work has been completed. The CM has emphasized the need to speed up the work of building construction so that the project meets all the deadlines on time.
