UP Police Arrests Salman In Encounter, Accused Of Raping Four-Year-Old Dalit Girl In His Neighbourhood

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday (26 August) night arrested Salman in an encounter, where the bullet hit his leg. Salman is accused of raping a four-year-old Dalit girl, who lived in his neighbourhood.

The girl was playing outside her house when Salman kidnapped her and took her to his house. There he raped her, which was later confirmed in the medical report.

When the girl did not return home, her parents started searching for her. Hearing the cries of the girl, they reached Salman's house and saw that blood was oozing out of her body.

The Dalit girl was soon taken to the hospital, while the UP Police started searching for Salman. Eight hours after the incident, Salman's location was traced and the police reached the spot.

On seeing the police, Salman tried to escape. The UP Police fired to stop him, injuring his leg. The incident happened in the Maharajganj district.

Station House In-charge Amarjeet Singh that the police force is deployed in the victim girl's village to maintain law and order as the victim and accused belong to different religions.
