Voting Underway For Seventh And Final Phase Of Elections In Uttar Pradesh: Here's How These 54 Seats Voted In 2012, '14, '17, And '19

The seventh and final round of polling for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections is happening today. This round covers 54 assembly segments across nine districts in the central-eastern and south-eastern part of the State.

In 2019, the BJP and allies led in 22 of the 54 seats polling today. The SP-BSP Mahagathbandhan led in 32. Out of these 32, it was the BSP which led in 22 segments and the SP in the other 10. The Congress led in none.

In the 2017 assembly polls, the BJP alliance won 36 of the 54. This included 29 seats of the BJP plus four seats of the Apna Dal (S) and three seats of O P Rajbhar's SBSP. The BSP won six, the SP won 11. One seat was picked up the by NISHAD party which is part of the BJP alliance this time. The Congress scored zero.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP led in a massive 48 of the 54 seats, and the SP led in the other six. Five out of the six leads for the SP came from the Azamgarh Lok Sabha constituency.

In 2012, the BJP could only win four out of 54 while the SP won 34. The BSP won seven and even the Congress picked up three. Six other seats were picked up by other parties and Independents.
