The man, named Rajiv Kumar Yadav, who claimed to be from Samajwadi party
Soon after the encounter of notorious gangster Vikas Dubey, some politicians attempted to rake up a controversy or draw caste-based fault-lines.
If Congress leader Udit Raj questioned whether Dubey would have met the same fate had he been a Thakur, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying “innocent“ men are being killed in encounters in Uttar Pradesh.
As per a Patrika report in 2016, a man named Rajiv Kumar Yadav, whose visiting card said he was a Samajwadi Party leader, said that only Muslims and Yadavs would reside in Uttar Pradesh and everyone else would be driven out like Kashmiri Pandits were from the Kashmir valley.
Here is a video of the man that went viral at that time:
"Is sarkaar ki priority hai Yadav plus Muslim varg (this government priorities Yadav and Muslim community)", says Yadav.
In the video, a government official can be heard confronting the SP leader after being accused of corruption.
The official says, "Hum Hindu-Brahmin kahan jayen? (where will be Hindus-Brahmins go?)".
Yadav replies, "Aap log ghooskohri karo (you keep indulging in corruption)".
The official says, "Kashmir churwa dia humse, UP churwaoge aap? (You would make us leave Uttar Pradesh like Kashmir?).
Yadav replies, "Haan churwa denge (Yes we will).”
The video has resurfaced on the social media in the wake of casteist accusations against Yogi by Congress and SP leaders. A congress leader has even launched an outfit for Brahmins, saying that Brahmins are suffering under Yogi rule.
