MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan And Congress leader Kamal Nath
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set for a spectacular victory in Madhya Pradesh, with the party poised to win over 160 seats in the state.
As per the latest EC trends, BJP is leading on 87 seats and has won 77 seats.
Meanwhile, Congress, which was hoping to make a comeback in MP, was leading on just 65 seats. The party had won 18 seats, as per the latest trends.
BJP leader and MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan won in Budhni seat by a huge margin of 104,974 votes.
Meanwhile, Congress leader and former state CM Kamal Nath was leading from Chhindwara seat by a margin of 35,000 votes.
BJP swept the elections defying many exit polls that predicted a close fight with Congress in the state.
The earliest among these initiatives was the 'Ladli Laxmi Yojana,' providing financial aid to families upon the birth of a girl child.
