The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its third list of candidates for the Rajasthan assembly elections scheduled for 25 November with 58 names of which seven are female candidates.
The party has nominated Poonam Kanwar Bhati from Kolayat. She had earlier contested from here in 2018 but lost. She is the daughter-in-law of seven-time MLA from here, Devi Singh Bhati, who recently joined back BJP.
Other female candidates are Sumitra Poonia from Sadulpur, Nauksham Chaudhary from Kaman, Kansa Meghwal from Bhopalgarh, Chandrakanta Meghwal from Keshaoraipatan, Kalpana Devi from Ladpura, and Sarika Chaudhary from Baran-Ataru.
While Rathore is a former chairman of the Jodhpur Development Association, Mehta is the former MLA of Tonk who won here in 2013 but did not get the ticket from here in 2018.
Of the 182 candidates declared till now, most are Vasundhara Raje loyalists. Supporters of Rajendra Rathore, leader of the opposition, have also got tickets in large numbers.
