Delhi's Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Friday (10 November) announced plans to postpone the odd-even scheme for cars given the reduction in pollution levels following light rainfall.

This comes after the Supreme Court pointed out in today's hearing that vehicular pollution contributes 17 per cent and the odd-even rule only causes a decrease of 13 per cent in this 17 per cent component, suggesting it will not help much.

He also appealed to the people of Delhi during the press conference to follow the cracker ban and light diyas to celebrate Diwali. On the question of stubble burning in Punjab, he said that the AAP government is waiting for SC's order.
