The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a chargesheet against minister Senthil Balaji
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today (12 August), filed a chargesheet against minister Senthil Balaji in the cash-for-jobs scam that occurred during his tenure as Transport minister.
The chargesheet along with an annexure of evidence runs into over 3000 pages.
He was produced before S Alli, the Principal Sessions judge in Chennai, after the conclusion of his ED custody.
According to a report by DTNext, the ED's plea for further custody was not granted and Balaji's counsel, NR Elango would apply for bail on 16 August.
A few days ago, the ED froze a palatial house being built in Karur by Balaji's brother Ashok Kumar. According to the statement issued by it, the land whose true value is around Rs 30 crore was purchased for Rs 10 lakh.
