PM Narendra Modi at Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura on Thursday (23 November) and participated in the 'Mirabai Janmotsav' to commemorate the 525th birth anniversary of the Bhakti period poetess and Lord Krishna devotee.
During the event, PM Modi acknowledged the sacrifices made by Mirabai's family and the people of Rajasthan for the protection of religious sites. According to India Today, he emphasised that the people of Rajasthan acted as a protective wall for India's soul, highlighting their sacrifice and bravery.
Sharing images of his visit, the Prime Minister posted, "Got the privilege of divine worship at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura. The beautiful sight of Girdhar Gopal, who resides in every corner of Braj, left me emotional! I prayed for happiness, prosperity and well-being for all family members across the country."
He also referred to the upcoming inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in January 2024, expressing gratitude for the positive changes in Mathura, Vrindavan, and other pilgrimage places during the last nine years of PM Modi's leadership.
Before the Mathura event, PM Modi highlighted the unique example of pure devotion and faith in the life of Saint Mirabai. He expressed reverence for her hymns and couplets dedicated to Lord Shri Krishna, indicating the privilege of participating in programs related to Mirabai.
