Heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand on Monday (16 July) caused landslides and road blockages.
Additionally, the Ganga River reached the danger mark in Devprayag and the warning level in Haridwar due to the release of water from the Alaknanda River dam.
The water level rose significantly after the release of 2,000-3,000 cusecs of water from the GVK hydroelectric project dam on the Alaknanda River.
In Muni ki Reti area near Rishikesh, the water level of the Ganga rose to 339.60 metres, which is 0.10 meters above the warning level of 339.50 metres.
