The second day of the I.N.D.I.A. coalition meeting concluded with Opposition leaders issuing a joint statement on Friday (1 September).

The resolution declares their intention to collaborate in contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections "together as far as possible".

Additionally, they announced the immediate commencement of discussions regarding the allocation of seats among the 28 member parties across different states. This allocation process will be conducted in a spirit of cooperation and compromise and "concluded at the earliest".

Members of the I.N.D.I.A. bloc also resolved to organize public rallies soon across various regions of the country, focusing on a common theme: "Judega Bharat, Jiteega India."

Furthermore, a 14-member coordination committee has been established, featuring prominent leaders such as Sharad Pawar, KC Venugopal, MK Stalin, Hemant Soren, Abhishek Banerjee, Sanjay Raut, and Tejashwi Yadav, among others.

Meanwhile, Kharge criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government, accusing them of engaging in vindictive politics. He also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's failure to investigate alleged stock manipulation within the Adani Group.

During his address at the coalition meeting, Kharge referred to a recent press conference held by Rahul Gandhi, where he raised concerns about the Prime Minister's silence regarding allegations of stock manipulation by the Adani Group.

Kharge demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation into allegations of round-tripping and reports of opaque investments from a Mauritius-based company. He expressed bewilderment over why the Prime Minister had not initiated an inquiry into the matter.

The two-day meeting of the Opposition bloc was conducted at the Hotel Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, with the primary purpose of formalizing the coalition's structure and devising their campaign strategy for the upcoming general elections.

The coalition intends to appoint a spokesperson and establish a dedicated secretariat to facilitate seamless coordination among its member parties.
