External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to hold a meeting with the three service chiefs and the Chief of Defence Staff after reports of clashes between Indian and Chinese soldiers on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will also attend the meeting, reports say.
The development comes amid attacks on the government from the Opposition. The issue is set to rock Parliament on Tuesday (13 December), with several Congress MPs demanding a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the situation at the border.
Congress MPs have given adjournment notices in both houses of Parliament to discuss the border situation with China.
On 9 December, between 200 and 300 Chinese soldiers attempted to dislodge an Indian post near Yangtse in Arunachal.
The Chinese soldiers involved in the clashes were armed with spiked clubs, taser guns, and a variety of melee weapons.
However, multiple reports say that the Chinese side sustained more injuries during the clashes than the Indian Army.
