Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has not held a single political rally in Rajasthan for the elections scheduled for 25 November till now but will be arriving in Jaipur on Tuesday (14 November) night to meet his mother Sonia Gandhi.
Notably, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi has relocated to Jaipur temporarily due to concerns about Delhi's air quality, two months after being released from the hospital, NDTV reported.
Suffering from respiratory problems, doctors have recommended a temporary move to a location with better air quality. As of Tuesday, the Air Quality Index for Delhi reached 375, categorised as 'severe,' while Jaipur recorded a figure of 72, classified as 'moderate,' according to the private air quality monitoring website aqi.in.
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to conduct three political rallies on Thursday- Taranagar in Churu district (morning), Nohar in Hanumangarh district (noon) and Sadulshahar (evening). He will hold a road show in Jaipur on 19 November.
Sonia Gandhi had previously been admitted to Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in September for fever symptoms, leading to her discharge a day later. She also faced hospitalisation in January for respiratory issues.
This move to Jaipur is not the first time the former Congress president has opted to relocate to another city to escape Delhi's pollution. In the winter of 2020, Sonia Gandhi had followed her doctors' advice and traveled to Goa.
