Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be absent from the upcoming INDI Alliance coordination meeting on Wednesday (6 December), NDTV reported.
Banerjee, who attributes the Congress's recent state election loss to the absence of seat-sharing agreements with other INDI Alliance members, has said about a prior engagement in north Bengal on the same day.
"I am not aware of this (the meeting) and I have some programs scheduled for North Bengal, if I had information about this then I would not have gone to North Bengal," she said.
Yesterday, the head of Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge, convened the subsequent gathering of the opposition group, after significant losses to the BJP in three states. This meeting comes after a three-month hiatus, with the previous one having taken place in Mumbai on 31 August and 1 September.
The meeting is anticipated to devise strategies for the upcoming Lok Sabha election next year.
