Vasundhara Raje welcoming Amit Shah
While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to contest the Rajasthan assembly elections without declaring any leader as the chief ministerial face, former CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia was seen smiling after the late-night meeting.
On Wednesday (27 September) evening, a strategy session took place in Jaipur from 7 PM to 3 AM, with the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda. It was during this meeting that the decision was made.
Live Hindustan sources suggest that the party has also appeased Vasundhara Raje, who was reportedly unhappy until now. Raje, who has served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan two times, considered herself as the face of the CM candidate. However, the party has agreed for her to contest without a designated face.
It is reported that she has received assurance that her opinion will be valued in the ticket distribution process. Consequently, Vasundhara Raje is pleased and has decided to actively participate in the election campaign.
There is also preparation to field MPs in the elections to create hype. Accordingly, there is a plan to field Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria, Kirodi Lal Meena, and Diya Kumari.
All three belong to different communities, and the BJP believes that their inclusion will create a favorable atmosphere. Jaunapuria is a Gujjar, Kirodi Lal Meena is from the ST community, and Diya Kumari hails from the royal family of Jaipur.
The first list of candidates is expected to be released by Friday evening. In the initial list, names of Vasundhara Raje, Satish Poonia, and Rajendra Rathore may be declared. It is reported that around 30 seats have been finalized in this first list.
Vasundhara Raje may contest from Jhalrapatan, Rajendra Rathore from Churu, and Satish Poonia from Amer. Additionally, there are discussions about Suresh Rawat being fielded from Pushkar.
