On Thursday (20 July), a Delhi Court granted bail to Brij Bhushan Singh, BJP MP and former Wrestling Federation of India president and co-accused Vinod Tomar in the sexual harassment case, filed by women wrestlers.

The court has directed Singh and Tomar to not leave the country without prior permission and stated that they will not, directly or indirectly, indulge in threat or inducement to the complainants or witnesses.

The judge stated that the chargesheet has been filed in the matter without arrest of the accused and they have cooperated during the investigation.

The chargesheet was filed under sections 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), 354A (sexually coloured remarks), 354D (stalking) and 506(1) (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Additionally, a cancellation report was filed in the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences case registered against Singh by a minor wrestler.
